The Aveiro and Figueira da Foz tidal inlets have been subject to a series of engineering works with the aim of improving the conditions of navigability and access to the two ports. These works have promoted changes in the coastal sedimentary balance that contributed to a sedimentary deficit south of the inlets. The present study aims to analyze the sediment transposition solutions in the Aveiro and Figueira da Foz tidal inlets, taking into account the technical and economic components. An analysis of the current conditions of sedimentary transposition will be made based on field data and estimated volumes of sediment that are transported in coastal drift through these nozzles. The optimal locations for depositing sediments to add to the inlets will also be defined. These results will then be used to propose technical solutions for sedimentary transposition complemented by a cost-benefit analysis.
