EUROMARINE-UCA-SEA EU International Marine Science Seminar Series

On July, the EuroMarine Summer School “Emerging topics in coastal marine ecosystems (eTOPs)” will be held at the University of Cádiz (UCA). This event encompasses a series of series of eight seminars, and they constitute a unique opportunity to engage with renowned experts in the field. The seminars will be hosted in person at the Faculty of Marine and Environmental Sciences of the University of Cadiz and streamed online through Zoom.

The seminar series is organised by EuroMarine, the Institute for Marine Research (INMAR) from the University of Cadiz, the European University of the Seas (SEA EU), and the International Doctoral School in Marine Studies EIDEMAR.

The seminars will take place at 10:30 Lisbon and the schedule is presented below:

3rd July – The ecological and socio-economic impacts of marine heatwaves.

6th July – Global occurrence, abundance and distribution of macro and microplastic pollution in oceanic environments.

7th July – The palaeoecological approach based on the seagrass sedimentary record.

10th July – Applied underwater technologies: automation and robotics for ocean observations.

(Patrizio Mariani, Technical University of Denmark DTU)

11th July – Marine biological invasions: mechanisms, impacts, and management.

(Ignacio Gestoso, INMAR, Univ. Cádiz, Spain)

13th July – Environmental impact of sunscreens: Using new technology for sustainable tourism.

(Antonio Tovar, ICMAN-CSIC, Cádiz, Spain)

14th July – Global ocean biogeography: Latitude, depth, climate change, 20 C Effect.

(Mark Costello, North University, Norway)

To register for the EuroMarine Seminar Series and complete the 10 hours of postgraduate training, students and researchers must register through this link. Those attending on-line will receive a Zoom link to participate in the event.
