60 COST Actions were recently approved and 23 of them are related with the research areas of CESAM. You can be a part of it and take profit of the many benefits of belonging to these networks.
Deadline: 12 July 2024
A COST Action (CA) is an interdisciplinary research network that brings researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years. COST Actions are typically made up of researchers from academia, SMEs, public institutions, and other relevant organisations or interested parties. COST Actions offers an inclusive, pan-European environment for individuals of all levels of seniority to grow their professional research networks and boost their careers.
COST Actions are different from many other EU-funded projects because it is possible to join and participate in one of our research networks once it has started, even if you were not involved in the proposal phase. This same logic applies throughout the entire lifespan of a COST Action.
Check here to see the COST Actions that are related to the research areas at CESAM. Three of them already count on the contribution of CESAM members (ENVIRANT, GIN-TONIC and ICPLASTIC) and they are already confirmed as members of the Management Committee (MC).
Have you seen a new network that is of interest? Apply to join its Working Groups or even become a MC member.
How to do it?
- Visit the dedicated Action page on the COST website (see here the link for each COST Action)
- In the ‘Action Documents‘ section read the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to fully understand the aims of the new Action.
How to join the CA Management Committee:
The MC is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and management of an Action. For each Action, up to two representatives per COST Member Country can be nominated to the MC. CESAM has members of the MC of previously awarded COST Actions (Bruna Oliveira, Cristina Pita, Davide Gamboa, Glória Pinto, Heliana Teixeira, Isabel Lopes, José Alves, Fátima Alves, Mónica Amorim, Olga Ameixa, Regina Duarte and Susana Loureiro).
This call is carried out by the COST National Coordinators (Maria Teresa Martins: cost@fct.pt). For this, you need to fill this form and send a letter of commitment from the institution and the statement of applicant commitment (templates here).
How to join the Working Groups:
Working Groups perform the tasks required by the Action to fulfill its objectives. You may join a Working Group at any time. You should follow the steps:
a) Identify the Working Group(s) you would like to be part of, as detailed in the MoU. At this point, you may also want to contact the Main Proposer to discuss how you can contribute.
b) To apply to join click on ‘Apply to join your Working Groups of interest‘. You will be redirected to e-COST, the online platform of the COST Association.
c) Login or register for an account if you don’t have one and submit the simple form.
d) Your application will be reviewed by the Action’s Management Committee once the Action starts.
Do not miss this great opportunity to increase your network! Please, let us know if you are nominated to the MC or accepted as a team member.
